PagePlay Where Fun Meets Fiction
Children's Interactive App Concept
PagePlay is an interactive audiobook that brings your favorite stories to life through physical play. The mobile app intends to create a bridge between physical play and interactive technology. The question is how can we incorporate technology that engages a child not only mentally but physically? PagePlay answers that question by offering a mobile experience that allows kids to listen to an audio narrative and act out portions of children’s literature.
The app uses built-in gyroscope technology in smartphones to register movement that physically engages and prompts them to participate in the events of a story. The app challenges children to use their environment and their imagination to perform various levels of physical movements while keeping their minds focused on a task. Completing a story will unlock new stories. Promotional posters with QR code technology will be placed in libraries, schools, parks and playgrounds where children can take a picture and instantly acquire the app. Each poster will have a different story a child can instantly play through.
Target Audience:
Kids 6-17, who are interested in children's literature, imaginative play, and interactive mobile apps.
Key Message:
Have fun by completing adventures set in the world of your favorite stories.
Insight:
Kids have little interest in physical activity and would rather spend time playing video games and watching TV. PagePlay bridges the gap between physical play and interactive technology.
